City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) M1 Brass Band
Welcome to the City of Cardiff (Melingriffith) Brass Band. We are a unique organisation in brass banding in Wales with five different bands based in the vibrant and beautiful city of Cardiff.
We are friendly and active organisation whose aim is to make music, lifelong friends and help keep brass banding alive in Wales. Our organisation includes, a beginners band (M4), youth band (M3), third section development band (M2), championship section band (M1) and last but not least a non-competing community band (Comm Brass).
The band has a long history of music making stretching back to the 18th Century from its beginnings as a fife and drum band through the 19th and 20th Centuries as a brass band linked to the Melingriffith tinplate works.
Nowadays we enjoy bringing the wonderful brass band sound to communities across Cardiff and further afield. Chairman—Lee Swallow.
