The Malvern Chase Brass Band
The Malvern Chase Brass Band (formerly known at The Chase High School Brass Band) was formed in 1968 under the leadership of John Harris and Ginger Trussler. It was made up of pupils from the Chase High School, but since 1999 has become a community band and changed its name, open to players of all ages and abilities.
The band has celebrated its 40th and 50th Anniversaries in recent years by commissioning pieces by Stephen Roberts and Jock McKenzie especially for the celebratory concerts.
Today the band comprises of around 30 players led by Gavin Arnett and a training band led by Sue Brickwell meets each week for upcoming players. We are based at the Chase School once more since the pandemic. The band performs at a range of local venues and events throughout the year, concentrating its efforts on carolling at Christmas to raise money for a different local charity each year.
