Warwickshire & Coventry Youth Brass

The Warwickshire and Coventry Youth Brass Band brings together young brass players (of about grade four standard and above) three times a year to rehearse and perform together, with the added side-effect of being able to hang out with other like-minded people of the same age. We are run by a group of volunteers from midlands’ brass bands, the Warwickshire Music Hub and Brass Bands England’s Brass Foundations. We are also ably and generously supported by members of staff from midlands’ schools and playing members and conductors of local bands who sit amongst the players and instil confidence among the players.

Simon Hogg continues to inspire us in-between all the excitement of our visiting artistes (including Tredegar Band, Orchestra of the Swan, British Army Tidworth, etc). Simon has such a personable demeanour and his encouragement has added hugely to the very swift establishment of this midlands course, now in its fourth full year. We are most definitely a brass band, playing brass band repertoire, but we welcome trumpet players, french horn players and even bass clef-reading tenor trombonists – aren’t we brave!
