Brass Band of Central England
Brass Band of Central England (formerly known as The Jaguar Land Rover Band) is a championship brass band with entertainment at the top of its agenda. This famous band is made up of thirty of the finest brass and percussion players from across the Midlands.
The band is in great demand for concerts across the UK and has conducted numerous tours throughout Europe and the USA and is often featured on TV and radio. The band has had numerous contest successes over its rich 75 year history– this includes competing at the National Finals, the British Open and the All England Masters.
The band was formed in Coventry in 1944 by the late Jack Major as the Air Training Corps Band. Over the next forty years, the band was fortunate to receive sponsorship from two of the largest UK engineering brands—Rolls Royce (1982-2002) and Jaguar Land Rover (2002-2022).
Conductor Iain McKnight grew up in Cornwall where he took his first steps into the world of brass banding at age 11 on cornet then moved to tuba. He is a respected and in-demand composer, arranger and conductor.
