Cubbington Silver Band
Cubbington Silver Band is a friendly and ambitious brass band with a proud history of music-making stretching back over 100 years. Officially reformed in 1995, the band continues to play an active role in the local community while also building a strong reputation for entertaining and high-qualtiy concerts and performances
The band performs around 20 engagements each year, appearing at concerts, civic events, community occasions and special performances across the region and beyond. Known for its entertaining programmes and committed playing, the band has taken part in a number of prestigious events, including a massed band and choir concert at Birmingham’s Symphony Hall, a performance on BBC Radio 4, and the finale event for Coventry UK City of Culture 2021.
Since 2008 and most recently in 2026, Cubbington Silver Band has been named the Midlands Area Brass Band Champion Band three times and has represented the Midlands at the National Finals twice, with a third appearance on the horizon in September 2026.
The band is conducted by Musical Director Dr Mark Scott, a graduate of Birmingham Conservatoire. Under his direction, Cubbington Silver Band continues to develop musically, combining its strong community roots with a renewed sense of ambition and momentum.
Today, Cubbington Silver Band remains committed to performing high-quality brass music, supporting local events, welcoming players, and representing Cubbington with pride wherever it performs.
