Arrow Valley Brass

Arrow Valley Brass is based in Inkberrow, Worcestershire, having moved there in 2007 from our previous home in Alcester. The band started it’s life in 1977 as Alcester Victoria Youth Band with a small ensemble of children in Alcester Town Hall, later becoming Arrow Valley Brass in 1989. Founded by Mr. David Stanley, his passion for music led him to conduct the band for over 40 years until he took a step back in 2019. Sadly, Dave passed away in 2023, he is greatly missed.

The current MD is David Hunt who joined the youth band when he was 9 years old. Having completed his studies at the University of Huddersfield under Phillip McCann, he returned to the band initially on cornet before taking on the role of the MD in 2022.

Our notable achievements include qualifying for the fourth section National Finals in 1989 and 1990 as well as placing second at the 2005 third section National Finals. Currently the band contests in the fourth section as well as performing concerts throughout the year and presenting our summer program in parks around the county.

We always welcome new players of any age and ability to join us for rehearsal on Sunday mornings in Inkberrow.
