Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass
Established in the 1900’s in the rural market town on the gateway to Shropshire, Cleobury Mortimer Concert Brass continues to entertain audiences and create music, while keeping a keen competitive edge.
After returning to the competition circuit in 2011, CMCB has made waves, qualifying for the Finals of the National Championship of Great Britain five times, in 2012, 2016 celebrating a 2nd place finish , 2017, 2018 and 2023 after a 3rd place qualifying result at the Regional Finals. The band have also supported the Birmingham ConsTest for the last 3 years, being the highest placed 3rd section band and 7th overall in the 2023 contest, as well as being awarded ‘Best Entertainment’ and ‘Best Percussion at Wychavon Festival of Brass 2024.
In 2026 the band welcomed Craig Williams into the role of Musical Director. A vastly experienced BBb bass player and conductor, fortunate to play under the likes of Major P Parks, Frank Renton, Prof G Cutt, Denis Masters, Paul Holland, Roy Newsome & Dr R Childs to name a few. Craig is in high demand as a conductor with previous positions held at Staffordshire Band, Enderby and Oldfellows. Alongside his work with CMCB Craig is also the musical director of Filton Concert Brass.
